Department of Civil Engineering

2025 / 2026

ADMISSIONS OPEN

Department Overview

The Civil Engineering programme was established in the 2008/2009 academic year to align

with the mission of the Technical University. Initially part of the School of Engineering, the

department was moved to the newly created School of Built Environment in the 2021/2022

academic year. The programme was first accredited by NABPTEX in 2008 for an initial

three-year period and was most recently reaccredited in August 2021. Since its inception,

approximately 350 graduates have completed the programme, with many securing

employment in government agencies such as the Ghana Highway Authority, Department of

Urban Roads, Department of Feeder Roads, and Ghana Water Company Limited. Others are

employed in private sector companies such as My Turn Construction, Maripoma Enterprise

Limited, and Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited.
