The Department of Building Technology was established in 2012 to train middle
level building engineers in the Upper East Region and beyond.The Department
provides high quality, career-focused education and training in construction
related programmes with emphasis on practical work and experience, as well as
entrepreneurial skills in order to enable students acquire requisite competencies
for the development of the Construction industry. Department runs both Bachelor
of Technology (2-Year Top-up & 4-Year Degree) and Higher National Diploma
programmes.

Brief Biography
Engr. Clifford Darimaani is an Assistant Lecturer in the Building Technology Department. He teaches Construction Technology, Site Organisation and Procedures, Construction Health and Safety, Construction Resource Management, Project Planning and Control, Building Economics, Building Maintenance, and Workshop and Laboratory Practices.
He is also a Plumbing Facilitator for the Wee-North Programme. Engr. Clifford Darimaani supervises HND and B.Tech project work.
He is a Professional Engineer and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GHANA).

Brief Biography
Engr. Eugene Salam Ayoakateng was born in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana in 1979. He is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Building Technology.
He is a confident, enthusiastic, and hardworking professional who teaches students across tertiary and secondary levels while encouraging them to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence.
He has over 17 years of teaching experience and joined Bolgatanga Polytechnic, now Bolgatanga Technical University, in 2014 as a part-time lecturer with the Building Technology Department.
He has taught and examined various undergraduate courses at the BTech and HND levels in both the Building and Civil Engineering Departments. These include Strength of Materials I, II and III, Theory of Structures, Design I and II, Civil Engineering Design I and II, Construction Management Studies, and Contract Administration.
Eugene is a Professional Engineer Technology (PET) at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ghana. He has administered contracts and prepared Bills of Quantities (BoQ), tender documentation, tender opening, evaluation, contractor selection, and contract awards.
With his extensive experience in the construction industry, he has also designed, built, and supervised the construction of various educational and residential buildings as well as road construction projects.

Currently transitioning into academia, Mr. Samuel Azure has been teaching for the past year, bringing practical industry insights into the academic field.
This blend of professional experience and academic engagement positions him as a key contributor to both project management and education.
